Speciale Libia

Speciale Libia, Research Center on Libyan Issues, aims to become a point of reference as a study club for Peace and Sustainable Development in Libya.

Our Message

Finding accurate information from its source with high credibility and analyzing it and finding sustainable solutions to any issue.

Finding solutions to Libyan issues requires a deep understanding of all stakeholders, impartially and objectively. That requires the participation of local sources who may not be known to political and international organizations and entities interested or involved in the Libyan dossier.

As a research center interested in Libyan issues, we have worked to establish local partnerships of individuals, civil, social and political institutions, and we are working with local experts and consultants to understand the main challenges. To increase the quality of our work, we have committed ourselves to impartiality, credibility and accuracy in reporting the news or publishing our studies.

Our Mission

Speciale Libya, Research Center on Libyan Issues, is an independent organization that works to understand Libyan issues and give a voice to anyone able to express himself. We offer support to local and international institutions to enable societies to thrive. We are directly committed to seeking and sharing information and to encouraging intelligent action for peace in the North African country and, consequently, in the entire region.

Our work is urgent to address both new and chronic existing challenges. Efforts to resolve the conflict in Libya are complicated by the profound shift in geopolitics, corruption of local and foreign officials as well as the growing importance of non-state actors ranging from religious militants to criminal gangs.

In the polarized, fragmented and sometimes dangerous information landscape, the work of Speciale Libya indicates a way forward. We intend to shatter clichés; show positive news, without forgetting the great tragedies. We give a voice to those who feel excluded, rejecting labels or prejudices imposed by politics, helping to create more creative and flexible frameworks for international diplomacy. The political crisis is intertwined with countless other issues, such as energy, human rights, education and security.

We aspire to promote the dissemination of the latest developments on the local scene through independent analysis, interviews and advice on how to prevent or manage the crisis, or rather crises. We combine expert field research, analysis and engagement with businessmen, politicians and civil society activists in a climate of trust. We strive to speak with all parties and, in so doing, strengthen our role as a trusted source of information, new perspectives and advice for conflicting parties and external actors.

It also intends to strengthen exchanges of experience and knowledge, through collaborations with universities and partnerships, events, publications and round tables. Our Scientific Committee members have achieved great results in different areas of life: politics, diplomacy, finance, business, energy, communication, academia or international organizations.
