37 Sudanese migrants recovered off Al-Khums, Libyan Navy chief of staff says

Libyan Navy chief of staff announced on Sunday the rescue of 37 illegal immigrants of Sudanese nationality, headed to the European coasts on a rubber dinghy. He said that the “Ubari” boat of the General Department of Coastal Security has moved, after being equipped with the necessary capabilities for the rescue and recovery operation, to the north-west of Al-Khums, and its members have rescued migrants from the waters.

The chief of staff added that the 37 migrants were transferred to the disembarkation point in Tripoli naval base, where they received the first medical and humanitarian assistance. The same source reports that legal measures have been taken against them.
